Titan's Hidden Ocean
Titan NASA's Cassini Spacecraft has found evidence that Saturn's moon Titan may harbor an underground ocean of water and ammonia. It is an important finding for astrobiologists who are searching for potential habitats for life in our Solar System.

Titan Oil Reserves
Titan Scientists have determined that Saturn's moon Titan has hundreds of times more liquid hydrocarbons than all the known oil and natural gas reserves of Earth. Studying the hydrocarbons of Titan could provide a better understanding of the origins of life in the Universe.

Titan's Great Lakes
Titan Newly assembled radar images provide the best view yet of hydrocarbon lakes and seas at Titan's north pole. Other images reveal lakes at the moon's south pole. Scientists are hoping that by studying Titan's unique environment they will gain insights into processes on the early Earth.

Misty Mornings in Xanadu
Titan Astronomers have directly observed rain on Titan for the first time. Using near-infrared images, they've shown persistent morning drizzle over Titan's major continent, Xanadu.
Full story...     Friday, October 12, 2007

Tropical Titan
Titan Scientists are drawing unique comparisons between the climate of Saturn's moon Titan and the Earth. Titan has some of the same circulation processes that happen on Earth, only they occur with completely different substances and at much colder temperatures.

Building Titan
Titan The Huygens probe landed on Titan two and a half years ago, but the data it collected is still yielding new scientific insights about Saturn's largest moon.
Full story...     Wednesday, June 06, 2007

Making Tholins
Titan Scientists have found that organic aerosols, or tholins, in the atmosphere of Titan form differently than previously thought. Studying these tholins on Titan may yield clues about the chemical precursors for life.

Seeing Titan's Seas
Titan Instruments on NASA's Cassini spacecraft have found evidence for seas, likely filled with liquid methane or ethane, in the high northern latitudes of Saturn's moon Titan.
Full story...     Friday, March 16, 2007

Earth's Hazy Past
Titan Saturn's moon Titan is notorious for its shroud of organic haze. Recent experiments suggest that early Earth may have been covered by a similar haze. The discovery could shed light on how life spread around the globe.
Full story...     Monday, February 19, 2007

Titan's Winter Storm
Titan Cassini has returned an image of a massive cloud made up of organics like methane and ethane on Saturn's moon Titan. The cloud may be responsible for material that fills the lakes discovered on Titan last year.
